CURRENT TOPS FELLOWS

Chao Cao received a Ph.D. in Movement Science-human metabolism from the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. His research focuses on human metabolism on mechanisms of and treatments (exercise/nutritional) of metabolic dysfunction and cancer. His goal is to develop accessible interventions to reduce the burden of chronic disease and improve physical function and quality of life in patients with comorbidities. He will be working with Dr. Jennifer Ligibel as his mentor..

Richard Newcomb is a hemetology/oncology fellow at DFCI who will work with Dr. Areej El-Jawahri. His goal is to improve the quality of life of those with malignant and benign hematologic diseases. Richard plans to pursue a career in stem cell transplantation.

Kelcie Willis received a doctorate in clinical psychology from Yale University. Her research interests center on improving the quality-of-life of both patients and caregivers affected by advanced cancer. She’ll be working with Dr. Jamie Jacobs at MGH..

Micah Aaron received a PhD in Health Policy from Harvard Medical School in 2022. She works under the mentorship of Mary Beth Landrum at HMS to study variation in quality performance across large provider organizations to elucidate the conditions under which these organizations actually practice evidence-based medicine.

Stephen Lo received an PhD from clinical psychology from Ohio State University. He’s interested in addressing psychological and behavioral issues in patients with cancer, with a focus on developing and implementing scalable interventions to enhance patient outcomes in cancer. His mentor is Joseph Greer at MGH.

​

Tom Roberts received an MD and an MBA from Stanford University and was previously a medical oncology fellow at DFCI. His research centers on the epidemiology of head and neck cancers and approaches to improve the quality of care for patients with these cancers. He also works with Joseph Greer at MGH.
